NOU is inspired by totonou (ととのう), a Japanese concept describing the state of deep mental and physical alignment achieved through cycles of heat, cold, and rest. Rooted in traditional sauna practice, this approach is now supported by a growing body of research linking contrast therapy, sensory deprivation, and halotherapy to measurable benefits in stress reduction, lowered inflamation, circulation, respiratory health, and hormonal and nervous system regulation.

We designed NOU as a place to reset. Through a guided sequence of climate-controlled experiences, guests move through contrast therapy circuits, sensory stillness, and salt-infused breathwork to support balance, and promote whole-body wellness.

Sensory Deprivation Float

Deep rest for body and mind

Floating in warm, mineral-rich water removes gravity and minimizes external sensory input. Without visual, auditory, or physical distractions, the nervous system can shift into a deeply restorative state.

Cold Plunge

Cold water immersion

Cold immersion provides a powerful contrast to the sauna. The brief exposure activates the body’s stress-response systems and helps train the nervous system to return to balance.

Himalayan Salt Room

Halotherapy (dry salt therapy)

Our Himalayan salt room creates a calm environment designed to support breathing, relaxation, and mindfulness. Fine dry salt particles disperse into the air, creating conditions that to support respiratory comfort.

Traditional Sauna

Heat, circulation, and release

The sauna moves the body into a deep state of warmth, encouraging muscles to relax and the nervous system to settle. Used regularly in Nordic and Japanese bathing traditions, heat exposure is a simple but powerful way to support wellbeing.
